Uploading Files
You can upload files into the wiki to supplement your wiki text articles.
When you upload a file, it is placed in the same namespace as the document you were viewing when you clicked "Upload File". For example, if you are viewing a document called Macintosh and upload mac3.xls, the file will be stored at the root level, as mac3.xls. If you are viewing Group:Club123:Home, and upload a file abc.jpg, it will be stored as Group:Club123:abc.jpg. This means that files uploaded are not attachments for another article -- they are simply objects themselves and may be referenced from any number of other documents.
Reference a file as any other wiki object -- with a link. For example abc.jpg for a file abc.jpg.
When you upload a file, a link to it is automatically placed at the end of the wiki document you were viewing when you uploaded the file. Once done, you may move the link in the source document, or remove it completely.
Note it is considered bad form to upload files that are text, rich text, or Word documents. Instead, paste the content into the wiki editor. That way it is easy for others to edit.
Note: Please use this feature appropriately, and do not abuse it! LittleWiki is not a giant file server. Most of the content should be wiki documents, not files. We reserve the right to remove any file. See Policies for more information.
Updating Existing Files
You may update an existing file by uploading it again. Please note that LittleWiki contains no version control for files at this time, nor any mechanism to check if two users are updating a file at the same time. We will be reviewing the popularity of this feature, and depending on the extent of usage we may add some of these features.
