Privacy Policy

Please note that we reserve the right to change our privacy policy from time to time.  Given that this is a wiki page, you can see all previous revisions by clicking the History tab above.  Also, if the policy just changed it will be listed on the LittleWiki Recent Updates page.  If you are logged in, you can click Watch to monitor this page too.

This privacy policy applies to the web sites littlewiki.com and shopwiki.com.  These sites are owned by ShopWiki Corp.  LittleWiki is publicly available but ShopWiki is not yet released.

Data collection

LittleWiki and ShopWiki may log and collect non-personally identifying information such as your IP address, browser type, time, and cookie when you visit the site.

We use this information to operate and develop our service.

LittleWiki and ShopWiki use cookies for various functions including keeping track of logins and counting how many users visit our site and for how long.

Personally Identifiable Information

Personally identifiable information is information that individually identifies you, such as your name, postal address or email address.

During the registration process you have the option of providing some of this information.  You may find this helpful in several ways:

• We use email address to send you a new password if you lose your old one, and to send you notifications about articles in your watchlist.
• The site also asks for your name. This is optional. We feel it might be useful if you lose your password or if someone guesses your password and takes over your account. Feel free to leave this field blank, it is mainly for future expansion.
• The site asks for your zip code. ShopWiki will use this to calculate sales tax and shipping on products and for other functions.
• We may use this information in other ways.

Information Sharing

Obviously, when you post information on the wiki, such as edits or a comment, that information is visible to other users, and associated with your username.

We may share information in the following situations:

• When we have your consent.
• To businesses or persons for the purpose of processing information on our behalf, under agreements to with those parties to keep that information confidential.
• When we are required by law or have a good faith belief that access, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of ShopWiki Corp, its users or the public.

Minimizing Personal Information

Most functions on LittleWiki and ShopWiki that involve information about you are optional.  You can limit the amount of this information in the following ways.  These are listed in order of least to most conservative:

1. When you register an account, leave the email, name, and zipcode fields blank. Further, choose a username that is not associated with your real world identity -- not your real name, but rather a "handle" not associated with you or something cryptic, such as random letters.
2. Don't even register. Instead, use the site without logging in. When you do this, your IP address will be used to identify you when you edit wiki pages and you will still be able to read everything.
3. In addition to not registering or logging in, disable cookies in your browser.
